Give plenty of room to work. Although we can understand why you might want to conserve space so that you can ultimately conserve energy, there can be a lot of inventory errors made if people in the receiving department of your company do not have enough room to work. That’s why you should avoid putting the shippers in a small room; they need to have enough space to pack each order. There also needs to be enough room for all of the supplies to have their own designated space. Combine your inventory. One mistake that some warehouse managers make is having inventory spread throughout various places. Then, when it comes time to look for certain items, it can be a time-consuming process. That’s why we recommend that you combine your inventory. That way, you can get them sent out to your clients and customers in a mere fraction of the time of if they were spread apart.

But, if you allow that you pile up, it can create quite a bit of clutter (and chaos) in your workhouse space. Double-check your orders. You definitely want to have the reputation for getting orders out quickly; however, you also want to make sure that the orders are right. That’s why you and your staff should put forth a concerted effort to double-check each order. It’s a preventative measure that can save you a lot of time and money in the long run.
Clean up each day. Although it can be tempting to leave some shipping supplies or a couple of things that need to be sent out laying around, if you do that often, it will only make it harder to stay organized.
